Anime fans generally fall into two camps: those who hate dubs and those who prefer them (there’s also a third camp: those who don’t give a damn). The same is basically true for gamers. Some just like their localized games to have the original voice acting intact.
For Phantom Brave: We Meet Again, NIS America is catering to the whims of both groups by putting in dual English and Japanese voiceovers. Here’s a blurb from the NIS America press release:
In appreciation of all the great fan support, NIS America negotiated with the developer in Japan and they’ve happily accepted the request. The development team has noted that as long as fans and gamers can enjoy Phantom Brave we ll do our ideal to get this feature in .
The implementation of this feature is a double-edged sword, however. Due to the extra development time needed, Phantom Brave: We Meet Again won’t be meeting its June release date. It will instead launch on August 4.

As E3 draws nearer, we’ve got more publishers coming out guns blazing with their E3 lineups. Up next is Activision, and well, well, well, look who’s packing the huge guns for the expo! They’ve covered a lot of genres with this lineup and I would love to win a hypothetical contest to win everything on this list. Check it out.
- Blur (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- DJ Hero (PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
- Guitar Hero 5 (PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
- Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 (DS, PSP, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
- Modern Warfare 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Prototype (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Singularity (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
- Tony Hawk: RIDE (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (DS, Personal computer, PSP, PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
- Wolfenstein - August 4 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
If I was heading to LA, I’d be sure to spend a lot of time on the Activision booth. That’s a pretty solid lineup right there.

Homebrew coder Molokai has once again updated his homebrew port of the rail shooter OpenTyrian for the Nintendo Wii. Some of the notable features of OpenTyrianWii version 1.1.2 includes the support for bidirectional movement of Dpads and some important bug fixes.
Changelog:
- All DPads now support bidirectional movement. This makes the GC pad much more viable as a controller to use in OpenTyrianWii.
- Fix confirmed for the CC DPad bug. It now only functions as a DPad.
- Unconfirmed fix for HBC 1.0.2 and up (I tested it on my Wii with 1.0.3 and it worked).
- Because of a bug in the joystick saving function, I’ve temporarily disabled it. Details in Controls.
- As a note, turning the volume down on the sfx seems to diminish the popping in the audio, but only slightly. Still looking into a proper resampling.
- Also, don’t change the scaler to anything but scale2x. 2x is now a testing ground for the 640

And so it is over even before it officially took off. Sources close to Bloody Disgusting are reporting that the film adaptation for Castlevania has been sucked out dry and so will no longer push through.

Another publisher formally announces its E3 roster, and for Namco Bandai, the list has to be the shortest I’ve seen for this year. No way they’re gonna drop Tekken 6, but I thought it’d be accompanied by a few more titles than that plus a bunch of Dragon Ball games. Talk about traveling light.
And by light, I mean FOUR games light:
- Tekken 6 (Xbox 360, PS3, PSP)
- Dead to Rights: Retribution (Xbox 360, PS3)
- Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny (PSP)
- Active Life: Extreme Challenge (Wii)
Okay, so we won’t be seeing

Activision’s Guitar Hero 5 (PS3, Xbox 360) is coming on September 1, 2009, so states the official website for the next iteration in the famous (and over-saturated) music-game franchise. Promising a list of 85 bands, GH5 will grant the use of four instruments of the same type all at once. Since we’re all up for experimentation here, Math Rock, anyone?
Further reports would indicate that Gorillaz, Duran Duran, Beastie Boys, Bush, Blur and more are confirmed to be in the game.
Oh, and by the way, there’s a 5 Tickets, 5 Concerts going on in the site right now. Get the answers right to the quiz questions, and get a chance to win 5 tickets per 5 concerts of your choice.
Try your luck, it can’t injured at all now, can it?

Wiibrewer raz0red has just whipped up the first release of Wii7800, a port of the ProSystem emulator developed by Greg Stanton. Credits to Zx-81, Leonis, and gdement for their respective contributions.
Known issues
- Audio support for frame rates other than 60 (PAL cartridges or custom frame rates) is a bit off.
- Light gun games are not currently supported (with the exception of those that support a joystick mode).
Installation
- To install Wii7800, simply extract the zip file directly to your SD card (retain the hierarchical structure exactly).
- Cartridge images should be placed in the roms directory (/wii7800/roms). (Zip files are supported)
- Wii7800 does support loading of the Atari 7800 BIOS, even though it isn’t necessary. If you wish to use the BIOS, simply place the NTSC and PAL BIOS files in the (/wii7800) directory. The NTSC file must be named, “7800.rom”, while the PAL file must be named, “7800pal.rom”.
Current status:
- Released 0.1. Took much longer than anticipated to do the port so haven’t had any time to devote to adding a Libwiigui front end. Will work on that for the next release. –Raz0red 04:49, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Added dual analog support for Robotron (maybe others?). –Raz0red 21:08, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed controls in core emulator code so that they are compatible w/ both one and two button games (modified 1.3d2). Fixed bug in save game loading. Should release 0.1 by Tuesday. –Raz0red 02:42, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Added support for PAL cartridges. Probably will release 0.1 this weekend. Let me know if you are interested in testing a preview release. –Raz0red 15:24, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Close to being ready to release a preview version. Want to make one pass through the games and ensure they are working properly before releasing. –Raz0red 23:25, 17 Might 2009 (UTC)
- Sound is now working (several more endianness issues resolved). The 7800 emulator is a bit odd due to the fact that it has to emulate 2 independent sound chips, the TIA and Pokey. At any rate, they’re now both working. Looking promising for an end of the weekend preview release. –Raz0red 06:31, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed all of the Endianness issues and now have it displaying. Will probably post a preview build in a day or so. –Raz0red 17:41, 11 Might 2009 (UTC)

Before the merge with Namco, Bandai has always been the publisher to watch when it came to Dragon Ball games. To today, now as Namco Bandai, the publisher remains to be the world’s Dragon Ball game provider, and that tradition continues with two more as Namco Bandai formally announces Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo and Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans.
Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo combines the action and adventures of young Son Goku with the crazy humor from the comedy that Dragon Ball was originally set out to be. The game will feature voicework and music from the original anime, and the visuals will keep true to Akira Toriyama’s original design. Fight against the Red Ribbon Army and King Piccolo himself in Story mode, or unlock the Versus Mode and take your unlocked characters to the arena. Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo will come to the Nintendo Wii on Autumn 2009.
Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans, however will not be as funny. Following the franchise’s shift from the humorous to the incredibly powerful, the storyline will start with Goku’s victory over Piccolo. As the name implies, you’ll have a date with huge bro Raditz, and quite possibly have a go against Nappa and Vegeta. Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans will hit European and PAL stores also on Autumn of 2009 for the NIntendo DS.
More Dragon Ball games coming out:
